I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, as you will likely see me around here a bit. I'm a new owner of SampleTank2 XL. Joy.
So far, I really like it.
There are a few sounds (yes, I did all the updates) that seem to have issues with bad loops or something causing them to have artifacts...don't recall exactly which ones. Also, the program bailed on me a few times while trying to "pre-analyse" a few of the streched sounds. I tried in both DXi and VST in Sonar 4 - the VST seems a bit snappier and more stable, but similar issues existed in each.
At any rate, I'm still happy with my choice so far - has some really great, inspirational sounds and I've barely scratched the surface. I've also downloaded about every official freebee (like the ss2 samples), but I cannot the free combis to do anything. I put them in the "right" place in Explorer, and even tried a different logical location, but I don't see them in SampleTank. Is there a trick I need to know about? Am I supposed to look for these someplace other than the ST browser?
Help appreciated. I'm new here, but I bought the product partially based on the community of people who seem to keep it under control - a lot of the same reasoning for Sonar.

Hi,
First the combis need to be in your ..\SampleTank 2\SampleTank 2 Presets folder.
Preset are not sounds, but presets
And you access them at the top center of the plug, where it says LOAD.
If you want to use multiple outputs in Sonar, use the VSti version as there is a bug in the Dxi version of ST2 when using the Freeze function or bounce to track (Just checked 2.08, same problem).
Also when trying different sounds, make sure to save your work first, if the file is corrupted it will crash Sonar (this is especially true when using banks that where converted to ST2 with third party software).

Ok...I didn't even see the LOAD button up there. Duh, though I don't recall seeing it in the manual either - but I'll look again.
Anyway...so are these 100 freebees the only ones, or were there some others included that I missed (again, XL) or other places that commonly exchange these? I looked a bit here at kvr, but didn't see a place for ST2 stuff aside from this forum.
Thanks for the reply. Any thoughts on when or if these problems will be fixed or a definitive list of XL included sounds that I should just delete until the fixes happen, or is this the CD that esounds is mailing out to ITS customers (got this at GC)?

Thanks. I already registered and I think I saw those there (along with the first 100) and the multi-effects presets.
It's pretty cool that this is all out here and I honestly don't even know what my problem is looking for more sounds when I already have SO many to choose from.
So anyway...are the other issues I'm having going to be addressed in more patches, the CD (which I still don't know if I'll get), or should I just get rid of them - hopefully with a conglomerative list showing which ones are DEFINITELY problematic.
