Is it worth $250 for shiny metal? Are they signed by the builder?

These are meant for collectors… I wouldn’t spend more (a lot more) just for aesthetics.

Prices aside, a clear look is not a bad thing, otherwise a studio ends up quite dark.
On the other hand, I’m not fully convinced by any shiny/reflective surface, I prefer solid non-reflective colors.

I may be cynical here, but I don't see the release of these Elektrons nor the new Wavestate SE by Korg as being for collectors. I believe they are the response to company management that demands new releases each quarter to maintain a balance sheet/stock price.

I don't think it's a coincidence they add a new piece of metal (2mm thick) that changes the appearance. Just think: "What's the cheapest thing we can do to attract new press between major new product launches?" -the question an executive at Korg might have asked.
If they just decided to update the design and improve some small feature it wouldn't sound as special as saying, "We have limited edition..."

I've seen so many limited editions on reverb.com, the real winner here.

The more I look at them, the more I sorta like them. If I was only going to own one of the 'takts, I'd consider it. But, all three of them in stainless steel would be a bit much, and mixing one of one finish with two of the other would look odd.

Wait, why isn't Analog Heat represented?
