All the changes in Discovery Pro from version 6 to 7.9 are in the background and minor with the only major possibility being that it can now load a WAV file (sort of like a Sampler).
But if so after trying this function I saw that it is very poorly done.
1. Sampler is expected to have some features specific to Sampler in a window to indicate the beginning of the loop and indicate the end. Of course, more can be requested in this window, but the worst is:
2. Samplera is the worst possible kind of FREE Samplers for which you don't pay but you can't be angry.
However, it is paid here, and what I am about to write makes me angry.
When you play a WAV file it is automatically placed in the middle of the keyboard as a note.
Down to the low notes, if it is a voice that is speaking, you will see that it starts to slow down the speech, and when you go to the higher notes, the voice or the speech there starts to rush and becomes unreal again.
I asked why it is like this here, and in others it is not like this and the speed is equal or the same. in some better made Samplers.
The answer was that this should be corrected by the developer by setting the processor in the background to calculate an algorithm for notes down and notes up which when the speed slows down the processor according to the algorithm should instead start to speed up with each note so that the speed to remain the same.
The same should be done for the upward notes where the speed increases but the algorithm should slow down the speed with each note so that the speed remains the same for the entire keyboard.
Now these 2 things prevent users from using the Sampler feature.
It is displayed with this function and it is not used.
i think in the new version 8 this should be fixed with only one speed change algorithm.
If you look at how this is absolutely equal for the Arturia VOCODER across the keyboard on Youtube you will see how well it is calculated there.
In Izotope Iris2 it is also done like this.
The speed is the same and since Izotope Iris2 is a 4 Layers Sampler see what options this Sampler has in its window.

I hope someone reads this and starts fixing it before a new version is released.

We appreciate your feedback regarding the Discovery Pro synth. We understand that our users have diverse needs and expectations, and we strive to cater to a wide range of requirements within the scope of our products.
Discovery Pro is primarily a Virtual Analog (VA) synthesizer with added WAV file loading capabilities. This feature was introduced to enhance the versatility of the synthesizer, allowing users to incorporate their own waveforms into the sound design process. However, it's important to clarify that this functionality is not designed to replicate the full range of features found in dedicated sampler software.
Your suggestion for advanced sampler-like features, such as time-stretching, re-synthesis, falls outside the intended scope of Discovery Pro. These are complex functionalities typically found in different software and would require significant changes to the core architecture of our product.
While we continually strive to improve our products based on user feedback, these specific requests are beyond the current design and intended use of Discovery Pro. We recommend exploring other products that are specifically designed as samplers and offer the advanced features you're looking for. There are many excellent samplers, like Bliss, and additive synths, like Vertigo, on the market that might better suit your needs for detailed sample manipulation and consistent playback speed across different notes.
We value your input and are always happy to hear from our users. It helps us understand the community's needs and guides our future development. Thank you for your understanding and for considering discoDSP products for your music production needs.
