The other day, I was exploring electric bass VSTs, and I stumbled upon Dandy Virtual Bassist by UJAM. I was genuinely impressed with its sound. I've also experimented with MODO BASS 2 by IK Multimedia and Trilian by Spectrasonics; both are amazing, and there are numerous YouTube videos showcasing their capabilities.

However, when it comes to Dandy, I've noticed a lack of videos and discussions about it on forums. Is there anyone here who uses it?

One drawback I've encountered is the challenge in programming slides or other techniques between notes. While reading the manual, I discovered that the plugin incorporates a kind of "AI" to determine when to execute a slide or a hammer-on. This aspect has been the only downside, but in terms of sound quality, it surpasses the 70s models from MODO BASS 2, in my opinion.

I like the Ujam stuff but there is no 5 string bass romplers in their collections sadly.

I reviewed these for Higher Hz and had to walk away with the impression that they were dated and limited.

In terms of A.I., my unwiped...
If you get value you can't find elsewhere, go for it, otherwise learn to synthesize and program and you are always way ahead of this sort of thing.

The free Ample P-bass is really good. Bass is my main instrument and to me, it's more realistic than all others I've heard and is pretty easy to program. If I needed a Bass guitar VST more often, I wouldn't hesitate to grab one or more of their offerings.

Hans Zimmer is one of the owners

I like the UJAM stuff for guitars,
but it's range isn't that of a guitar.
maybe that's better with bass

Actually, one of the longest and oldest threads in kvr is about this plugin.
