Hey everyone,

We're excited to share the first new Denise Audio plugin in more than a year, a vastly upgraded version of our Bass XL plugin -- appropriately named Bass XXL.

Bass XXL offers a more effective way to get the thick and consistent low end that defines modern mixes. Thanks to a proprietary algorithm that creates harmonics above the root frequency, your bass will be enhanced even through earbuds and small speakers.

‍Bass XXL makes use of a proprietary algorithm designed to supersize the low end. The plugin accomplishes this by generating additional harmonics that are actually above the bass frequency you want to enhance.

This concept takes advantage of a psychoacoustic phenomenon that causes our brains to interpret sub bass audio largely based on its harmonics more so than the lowest sounds being produced. Even in the absence of sub bass frequencies, we fill in the blanks and perceive the bass as long as the proper harmonics are present.

With so many of today’s earbuds and small speakers unable to generate satisfying low end, Bass XXL comes to the rescue by enhancing your bass with fat and beefy harmonics that can be more easily heard.

The ultimate low-end enhancement tool
Based on the cult success of our Bass XL V1, we wanted to raise the bar with Bass XXL and create the 'be-all-end-all' bass enhancement tool. Use the plugin to beef up bass lines, kick drums, toms, drum groups, or even entire mixes.

All harmonics are not created equal
Bass XXL’s harmonics algorithm is custom developed for low-end duties. Unlike a sub-synth, it generates its harmonics entirely from your dry track, resulting in a natural and organic bass enhancement that blends perfectly. The algorithm combines the smoothness of analog saturation with digital precision and oversampling. Furthermore, we have eliminated the phasing issues that sometimes occur with this type of effect.

Would have been nice if I had an access to my Denise account before looking at more plugins. https://deniseaudio.onfastspring.com/account page does not send an email. I sent an email to support@deniseaudio.com on October 23 - no answer.

Update. Problem was solved by Denise Audio support. Thank you.

We just searched the inbox and couldn't find your message. Really sorry, but we transitioned to a new support ticket system around that time, so it may have fallen through the cracks. Either way, if you write us now we'll help you out right away.

Are license transfers possible now, since the change in ownership?

For the short term, we've kept the existing Denise policy of not allowing license transfers while we figure out porting customers over into our new system and some other backend improvements. However, we will re-evaluate this in early 2024 and if there's a demand from the user base, we'll try to make it happen.

OK, good to know it's being considered. I can't imagine any user base preferring there not being a license transfer system, so I'm not sure what you mean by "a demand from". I think people are more likely to just decide not to purchase, rather than actively reach out to the developer, to let them know that was a deal breaker for them like I did here. More so for people who don't own any Denise products yet, but I think it applies in general too.

Anyway, I hadn't checked out any Denise stuff since the takeover, but this is a great sounding product and one I certainly would have bought, had there been a change in the policy.

Thanks for the reply.

Maybe they would have to raise prices and figure out transfer fees to make sure they don't start losing out on such a change. Could be a tricky decision, although maybe the parent company could help with that.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Yeah, of course not every developer can facilitate transfers and (mostly) it's for legitimate financial reasons. Hopefully, as Baby Audio is the parent company and they do have such a system, they will be able to work it out.
