Osci-render is a synthesizer for making music by drawing objects, text, and images on an oscilloscope using audio.

There's both a free and premium version available at https://osci-render.com/ and it's available for Windows, macOS, and Linux, as both a standalone application, and a VST3 or AU audio plugin.

The premium version includes a bunch of extra features, such as recording the visualizer, live video input, new effects, visualising MP4s, and more!

Osci-render supports rendering 3D object files, SVGs, images, video, text, GIFs, as well as animated scenes from Blender!

It's also fully-programmable in Lua, meaning if you have a tiny bit of programming experience (or want an excuse to learn 😉), then you can easily create your own sounds and visuals that can be automated and played.

You can get started by importing a file or choosing from the example files. Or you can just play around with the default square! From here, have an experiment with each of the effects on offer and make something that looks or sounds cool 😊

Please feel free to provide feedback, bugs, or improvements here or on the Discord: https://discord.com/invite/ekjpQvT68C

Thanks!

TL;DR - Osci-render has had a complete overhaul in the last two years, and is currently 20% off until December 2nd!

It's been a very long time since the last post here, but a lot has changed in the last two years!

We're now 6 major versions ahead, and with that comes a lot of change:

- There are tonnes of new audio effects to play with, and even more on the premium version
- The interface has been redesigned from scratch, and is so much easier to use
- Blender support has been hugely improved, with offline pre-rendered scenes, and much better performance
- Images and animated GIFs are now supported
- The software oscilloscope has been completely rewritten from scratch and looks incredible
- Lua support has massively improved
- MP4 and MOV video is now supported in the premium version
- You can record video from the software oscilloscope, as well as stream the video to other software using Syphon/Spout
- Along with so much more!

To celebrate all this change, as well as Cyber Monday, you can grab osci-render premium for 20% off right now if you head to https://osci-render.com/. This is the first time that osci-render has been on sale, so this is a great opportunity to get started with it.

There's a Discord server with nearly 2,000 users that you can join here to get help, or to share your art: https://discord.gg/ekjpQvT68C

I hope you have fun playing with it!

This is really a sound - designers dream even at full price. The sonic possibilities alone are just otherworldly.

Can Osci-render do what Sosci does?

There's a good breakdown of the differences on osci-render.com but sosci is just a virtual oscilloscope, whereas osci-render actually creates visuals from scratch. You can also input audio to osci-render and use it as a virtual oscilloscope too, so yes it can do what sosci does :)

Most of these are premium-only features, which is why osci-render premium is currently 25% off for the next week to celebrate the new update!

As always, you can grab it from https://osci-render.com/ and I'm more than happy to answer any questions :)
