Reviews can be a good way to learn the ins and outs of a plugin/library, even listen to some demo material, but I've learned to put zero stock in the online opinions about how good something is as they are almost always glowing reviews, and that's because the reviewers often get a free copy of whatever it is in exchange for a review...with the implicit implication that it's expected to be a good review.
