whose singing voice do you love or hate?

what somebody hates someone else loves
what somebody loves someone ese hates
or maybe to some "nothin' matters and what if it did?"
but do please share your loves and hates and whatever else, singerwise
it might be interesting
.
me, i was initially not happy with about 90 percent of the singers
in my song collection
robert plant of led zeppelin, especially
but i end up ignoring the unhappiness after a while because "to me",
a lot of songs are just too good to not include in my song collection...
"to me" the reason of "the singing bothers me" is not a good enough one
but i realise that some singers are just way too bothersome
for some to tolerate
i myself can't tolerate too much of rap songs because i can't relate to
the "f**k the police"and bitch-slapping lyrics
and death metal...
it's so garbled
can't make out the words
anyways, here is my list of annoying, but worth tolerating singers
i know they are all a billion times better singers than me, but still
robert plant
janis joplin
neil young
geddy lee
ian cutis
bernard sumner
sting
barry gibb
everyone in the eagles
robert smith
david bowie
stevie nicks
mick jagger
van morrison
everyone in the grateful dead
frank black
david gahan
david sylvian
david clayton thomas
bon scott
brian johnson
everyone in the beatles
axel rose
tina turner
mariah carey
whitney houston
jim morrison
roger waters
jon anderson
laurie anderson
ian anderson
johnny rotten
iggy pop
joey ramone
rod stewart
bob geldoff
bob dylan
joan baez
kurt cobain
james hetfield
prince
chipmunks
and so so many more
conversely, there are some singers that don't annoy too much
or even not annoy at all, not annoy me at least
it depends what songs they are singing
hope sandoval
neil diamond
jim reid
morrissey
joni mitchell
debbie harry
tracy cattell (had to google that one)
frank sinatra
karen carpenter
and many more that i can't remember right now
so, what does your list look like?

Funny that your like-list contains Frank Sinatra, who drives me crazy because he’s constantly flat. As a cousin, I am aware it may be genetic.

what are the perks of having such a famous cousin?
can you have someone "rubbed off"?

None for me, but my grandmother and her sisters used to get tickets sent to them for every local show when they were alive. One of her brothers had a huge house by the water and his kids raced sailboats as hobbies and he was just a local official in a small town… so that was a bit off.harryupbabble wrote: Sun Jan 21, 2024 4:49 pmwoweezerocrossing wrote: Sun Jan 21, 2024 4:06 pm Funny that your like-list contains Frank Sinatra, who drives me crazy because he’s constantly flat. Sad you don’t hear it. Guys like Connick or Buble are so much better. Even Frank’s contemporaries, like Martin and Bennet are way better in this respect.jancivil wrote: Sun Jan 21, 2024 4:52 pmBullshit.zerocrossing wrote: Sun Jan 21, 2024 4:06 pm Funny that your like-list contains Frank Sinatra, who drives me crazy because he’s constantly flat.

1. I'm really glad most KVRists are instrumentalists because that really helps the environment from pollution.
2. All those male singers that sing like Eddie Vedder because they're too lazy to be unique are shit.
3. Modern RnB singers who take 10 hours to sing one word because think they can sing like the classics (Al Jearreau, Marvin Gaye, Donna Summer, Aretha Franklin etc) need to be muzzled.
4. Anyone that uses autotune should be shipped to a remote island where man eating lizards reside.

Billy Corgan - also compounded by the fact he's an Olympic standard arsewit.
Agree with 3. above. Those warblers (Mariah Carey etc) who sing 10 notes where 1 will do. Vocal equivalent of guitar widdling
