Hello everyone,
I'm currently in the market for a new VST EQ and am seeking your insights. My experiences with the Big Freq have been mostly positive, but I've noticed some issues, particularly with how it handles high frequencies. I'm not entirely convinced about its programming in this aspect. (The Arousor Comp on the other hand seems to be a more convincing product by ELI)
My ideal EQ would display all controls at once. This is a feature I find very important so no Pro-Q or Crave for me. Another must-have is an easy-to-use band soloing feature that doesn't require holding down a button continuously, which rules out options like Ableton's EQ8 for me.
While a spectrum analyzer isn't necessary, having an EQ curve visualization would be a nice addition. I'm not keen on EQs with cramped interfaces like the Weiss EQ1 or VSE-4. Also, I'm not particularly looking for an emulation EQ, but rather a clean, high-quality one for precise mixing duties.
In summary, I'm looking for an EQ VST that is:
* Comparable to Big Freq in functionality but with more consistent performance across all frequencies
* Has an intuitive UI with all controls visible simultaneously
* Features convenient band soloing
* Provides EQ curve visualization (optional)
* Offers a clean, high-quality sound for mixing (not necessarily an emulation)
I'd appreciate any suggestions or advice you might have. If you know any EQ VSTs that fit these criteria, please do share!
Thank you in advance for your help!
Best regards

Actually I think he might get all he wants out of EQuality, and it's less expensive. EQuality is an exceptional EQ for mixing and mastering. It's been my go-to EQ for well over a decade now.dionenoid wrote: Mon Jan 29, 2024 12:07 pm DMG Equilibrium : https://dmgaudio.com/products_equilibrium.php

Although, the way you solo a band with EQuality is that you leave the setting on and then it will solo the band for as long as you are holding your left mouse button down on one of the controls for that band. This makes it ideal for sweeping for problem frequencies, as you just click on the frequency for a band and it keeps it soloed while you sweep around for problems, then it goes back to full bands when you let up off the mouse button. I think it might only do this on the frequency control though.
