How do you get the classic Hennes & Cold-esque reverse bass sound? There's been plenty of variations over the years but it seems like the base sound (or at least the principles of it) are the same. Some examples provided below.

Pretty sure I read somewhere fairly recently that The Second Trip rev bass was a sample lifted from Mauro Picotto's Pulsar.
But generally these sounds tend to start as a 909 kick run through some pretty heavy distortion, take out the transient, then reverse it. That's pretty much the gist of it, but it's all about the fine tuning of the 909 kick and the distortion.
