Please tell me what kind of sound is playing in James Landino - Shiba Island from 0:13.

I mean this ringing overtone that moves along with the bass. Is the bass synthesized with this sound or is it a separate sound? How to create something like this? I use Serum and Vital.

In Serum try triangle waveform in OSC A through keytracked 'SampHold-' filter combined with sine SUB osc bypassing the filter.

Those are definitely two separate sounds. Even two different melodies.

Are you sure? Maybe you mean the bass and the mid-range lead sounds are obviously playing different melodies. But I think trapapcash was not asking about the lead sound.
There are clearly some high frequency overtones that are created by some bitcrusher/bitreduction/sample-and-hold type of effect. And those overtones seem to follow the bass, not the lead.

In Serum you can make those overtones follow the bass by using triangle waveform through 'SampHold-' filter and enabling 'Filter KeyTrack'. The effect is pretty sensitive to the cutoff setting and it needs to be carefully adjusted to get correct pitch for the overtones and also to get rid of beating. I used a macro knob to finetune the cutoff setting.

From time 0:13 there is also some fast arp sound in the background. You can hear the bass with overtones (together with the lead) more clearly from time 1:48.

Ah... yeah, if he meant that, then I also suspect that it's some sample rate reduction artifacts.

Extreme bit reduction mixed in with the original bass ......

Kinda reminds me of the bass sound in the Will.i.am / Britney song "Scream & Shout", around 1:13
