Mac equivalent of InsertPizHere's midiIn?

I am looking for a Mac plugin that simply let's you insert a MIDI device. There is one for PC which was created years and years ago by InsertPizHere (look him up here if you don't already know his plugs), but I can't find anything for Mac. It does exactly what I need... it brings in a MIDI source where the option isn't offered by a DAW.

Kushview Element can do this, and a lot more. It's free. Add the plugin to a track in your DAW. Right-click on the background, click "MIDI Input Device" and choose your device. This will add it to the canvas. Connect the added device to the MIDI output device. Done.
