Hi I’m just wanting to know what the best sounding free 303 synth vst there is at the moment. I want the sound without paying out as I’ve recently bought a couple of synths?
Thanks

Probably this: https://antonsavov.net/audio_plugins/vb303/
32-bit only though, and there never was any newer version than version 1.0.
If you want that sound, you should consider buying AudioRealism ABL3, or D16 Phoscyon. Or... you just buy the Behringer TD-3, which won't cost you much more than the plugins.
I considered some of these options (I do own ABL3), but, in the end I decided for myself that I'm not really that much into 303s, AND, I can do similar stuff with basically any synth I have, and it can do much more at the same time.
Reveal Sound Spire, for example, can do quite a convincing 303. Of course, won't sound exactly the same, but, good enough for me, if I want such sounds.

Hehe, I remember the discussions about the sequencer.
Have only tried it once back then though, and then I switched to 64-bit at some point, and never looked back.
Reminds me how little discussions about 32-bit compatibility there are anymore. Seems like eventually everyone hopped aboard. Which was obvious, but, some people obviously always believe that developers should serve 0.0001% who are too stubborn to switch or upgrade, and make a big deal out of their selfish concerns.

Not free so I shouldn’t mention it, but Pure Acid on iOS gets down to below $10 I think on sale. That’s the cheapest decent one I could think of.

The other one besides JC303 I know of that's free is Yooz BL-303. And if you can get past the Comic Sans, it actually sounds half-decent

The idea was good, but the problem is that the patterns were not recreated properly in the software plugins. Some are an octave higher, some in different keys, and most enervating some didn't use smooth curves for the controls- even though every one is capable of doing them in a DAW.chk071 wrote: Sun Mar 10, 2024 9:00 pm I'm sure you already know that site, but...

Also you can get pretty good non 303 acid sounds out of quite a range of synths. I think OG Massive does this pretty well, but others too.

Almost any synth can do "acid" kind sounds, but specific 303's maybe not. I've used Juno2 for acid sounds back in the day etc.
