Preview/Purchase plugins, what are my options?

Hey,

I seem to have a vague memory of a plugin that allowed you to broswe and preview samples, then pay to download them if you liked them.

I love mangling sounds, i just trawl through my Computer Music coverdiscs finding bits and bobs.

Be nice to be able to do this with a bigger library of pro samples. Then for example if i find one beat i can use for a track, i can just pay for that.

Does such a thing exist, or am I just hallucinating?

Well i found this PowerFX site and accompanying program to browse/buy samples.

You buy credits with cash (moe you buy cheaper it gets) then buy sampls with those credits.

so $50 gets you 125 credits. All the samples i browsed were 1 credit each, and varied in length. This is perhaps not the best value ever, but the flexibility is appealing.

Given i can mash up one sample into a million variations in Live, if i find one decent sample then its worth the 40 cents or whatever to get it. For example, some of the samples i heard were decent length drum/percussion loops. So i could very easily cut out many single hits and save those for later use. For a few pence it seems like it would be very useful.

Anyway if anyone has any comments on this system they'd be gratefully received
