Is there a good sfx/soundscape library to use in animation/flim/etc?

I'm not looking for a specific sound at the moment. I'm just curious if there're good free(royalty-free) libraries I can download to use for typical scenes in animations and films.
Such as footsteps, ambient, rain&wind, underwater sound, animal sounds, etc.

First of all, good luck with your flim, if you want to make a flim with free materials.
Of course, nobody is searching Google or Bing for "free sound effects", or browsing the forum for a collection of free materials.
Because, what do you get?
- lossy quality (mp3) samples
- a lot of results to scan
- the offer for paid samples
- a lot of low quality sounds
Somebody had to pay for a microphone, field recorder, recording studio and/or processing and mixing effect hardware and/or software, record, process, categorize, index and upload the sound effects, and it is about time that this becomes free, to make your free flim.
That's why it would be nice if all free materials would be offered in *one* place, where everybody can get them for free, and the job application of Music Producer or Sound Effect Producer can be sent to oblivion when found the right person, especially when you want to make a free flim.
Should we ever make a minimum wage in the computer or media industry or get paid a regular wage, or a decent amount of money, like the bartender, the baker, the plummer, or the gardener? No. Free, is the magic word, and of course, we understand completely that you want to make a free flim.
Where can I download your free flim?

Im afraid you've made this somewhat ambiguous by saying 'free(royalty-free).' Do you mean free as in royalty free', or 'free as in no cost and also royalty free'
FWIW I'd actually expect most commercial sample libraries to be royalty free.
There are zero-cost sound libraries out there, but it'd be up to you to decide whether they'd be as useful to you as commercial libraries, which also range in price and quality.
If you are looking for commercial libraries, you could start with a portal like A Sound Effect or Sonniss, or perhaps a Zapsplat or SoundSnap subscription. Plus specialists like Hiss and Roar, Boom, The Recordist, Tonsturm etc.
For cheap, keep an eye on Humble Bundle. They've done bundles including things like the Studio Box set and Krotos's library for around £20. Also keep an eye on ProducerPlanet's sales, they frequently do their stuff by Detroit Chop Shop for £10-15 each. Or the FreeToUse collection which is massive.
If you want a starting point for free sounds, have a look at 99sounds, as well as the stuff Sonniss have given away for GDC. There's a couple-hundred Gb of that. Flame Sound have been pushing a cutdown free version of their stuff for a while too.
There's also the Krotos Studio, which has some free stuff withut subscription, but it does relies on their proprietary tool.
Adobe also give away a bunch of stuff in support of Audition, but Im not sure about the license.
If its noncommercial you can use the BBC libraries, one of the biggest collections in the world. I think they're lossy-encoded though.

"Free" as in the producer of music is hungry and bankrupt.
Not looking for specifics, but if you could please follow the detailed list of requirements?
(biggest commercial offer brand) is out there. Thank you.

To answer your question: Yes.

You may want to type in things like "footsteps.wav" and "sound effects for film".

Are you the OP? Are you speaking for the OP?
What 'producer of music?' There's no mention of music in this.
Which detailed list of requirements? Not looking for specifics, but if you could please follow the detailed list of requirements?
I have no idea what you mean here, or how it relates to the request, please explain.(biggest commercial offer brand) is out there. Thank you.

1. I am really hungry and bankrupt for working for free.
2. I am not the OP.
3. Requirements:
- sounds for "flim"
- sounds for animations
- footsteps, ambient, rain&wind, underwater sound, animal sounds, etc.
- can download
- free
- royalty free
- find them
4. You mentioned a few of big name commercial brands.
5. It relates to the request for "free media" that I am doing unforced slavery work for, would rather do paid work.
2. I am not the OP.

And how does relate to the request? Are you providing free(royalty free) sound effects libraries or not?
So why are you speaking for them?2. I am not the OP.
Is there a particular reason you're repeating a simple typo over and over and over again? Is it to try and humiliate the OP?3. Requirements:
- sounds for "flim"
Its clearly 'film.' I wonder if behaviour like this is why you're bankrupt and starving.
well done.- sounds for animations
- footsteps, ambient, rain&wind, underwater sound, animal sounds, etc.
- can download
yes, but possibly free and/or royalty free because of the highlighted ambiguity.- free
- royalty free
So not 'music' then, right?- find them
And you'reobjecting because I provided more options and information in the context of a stated ambiguity.
I guess you do think you're speaking for the OP.
So?4. You mentioned a few of big name commercial brands.
Nope. The request doesnt relate to your circumstances in the slightest.5. It relates to the request for "free media" that I am doing unforced slavery work for, would rather do paid work.

I think one of the best now would be Elements Kepler. It has massive amout of sounds especially for sfx, textures, soundscapes and great for cinematic/game

That's a Kontakt library, and aimed at cinematic music.zisser wrote: Sun Jun 09, 2024 1:56 pm I think one of the best now would be Elements Kepler. It has massive amout of sounds especially for sfx, textures, soundscapes and great for cinematic/game
Not really sure where it fits with the OP's request, which was for incidental sound effects for film and animation ie
"footsteps, ambient, rain&wind, underwater sound, animal sounds, etc."
versus
"Elements Kepler features an extensive array of 20 multi-sampled Kontakt instruments exploring dramatic synths and strings, thundering hybrid percussion, organic sound design textures, strange voices and celestial choirs. "

please tell us more about these plummers. what sort of plumms are they plumming? do plummers make a decent amount of money when they plumm? if so, why dont you take up plumming so that you are not hungry and bankrupt?
would a plummer be a total wanker and repeat a single typo made by the OP over and over again as though they were trying to humiliate them? could a plummer manage to avoid typos of their own, or would they plumm the depths of being a hypocrite, like you?

Holy shit guys, I found the worst thread on KVR.
Anyway, I would suggest the site pianobook. A bunch of people's making free sample libraries for kontakt or Decent Sampler, with some Foley stuff in there. Not sure it's quite what OP wants but may be a start.
