I am starting with a potential bug. When I try to render a clip and dialogue comes up, if I choose no, the program crashes. This is happening without any plugins.
On to the questions. Should I use proxy files? What is the benefit? Every time I make an edit to a proxy clip, it has to re-render. The waveform disappears for a second, and it's annoying if I have to make a lot of edits in one clip. (Sorry but I searched the manual, and the word proxy is not there at all)
Midi devices have a way to quantize on input. Which is great. But it also quantizes the length of the notes, not just the start. Why would I want to quantize the length of the note? Is there a way to just quantize on input only the start of the notes?
Still testing but with 13, its the first time that I am thinking on making waveform my primary daw.
Some questions about waveform.

Proxy files seem to be a clip level freeze of sorts and it is annoying if you are making a lot of adjustments. You can turn it off per clip, or by default. Some clip fx will have no effect unless proxy files is turned on, but you can turn on as needed per clip. It is perhaps designed for clips that using pitch or stretch algorithms and appears to loading the clip into ram rather than using real time processing. Just my observations, I could be wrong. I don't use them for precisely the same reason you find them annoying, I prefer the instant results when making quick small adjustments. Just turn it off.

I'm trying to replicate this but not able to. You're not very specific so I tried a few thing. I tried to render a MIDI clip with a plugin (HexDrum)) on the track. I tried it with an audio clip and no effect plugins on the track. I tried it with a MIDI clip and no plugin on the track. I'm using WF 13.1.2 on Windows 10.pdk_ wrote: Fri Jun 21, 2024 2:12 am I am starting with a potential bug. When I try to render a clip and dialogue comes up, if I choose no, the program crashes. By the way, I am assuming but "no" that you mean "cancel".
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Sorry for not providing more details but the problem was that for some reason, I didnt have write access to appdata folder. I moved the temp folders of waveform to another folder and will try this again.
