Can this sound be accomplished in sylenth? I playd around with square/saws fiddling with the phases but couldn't get it quite right. I also have massive/serum but aren't as comfortable with using those waveform parameters (bend/pwm, etc) so maybe I have to play with those?

As a starting point try using a narrow pulse wave and send it through a fairly distorted amp sim, maybe throw in a resonant filter (before the amp) and add a generous heap of OTT over the whole thing. Alternatively look for clav sounds and add distortion. This should at least get you in the ball park.

Load up the LD preset and it'll sound weird but once you add the BASS layer it'll all make sense
