I haven't really checked up on CLAP. I've just assumed it's still so new that there isn't much benefit yet compared to VST3. What are the advantages of using CLAP versions, if any?

PS: It's not new anymore but adoption of it is painfully slow

Still not sure how much it benefits the users, today? Now that FL supports CLAP, why should I install CLAP versions in addition to VST3 of my plugins?mdx4ever wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 6:19 amHave a lookie here:kae wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 5:54 am I haven't really checked up on CLAP. Well, it will not replace well established formats like VST or AU anytime soon if ever…kae wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 8:38 amStill not sure how much it benefits the users, today? Let's see, CLAP in FL is a much more dialed down version than in Bitwig, so for now you won't get any new modulation options, but, first of all, scanning new plugins is incredibly faster with CLAP compared to VST.
Second, it's an open format, which makes its adoption among small developers in the long run much more likely.
And third, if FL ever added the per-voice modulation options CLAP makes possible you get sound-design and expressive options you can only ever dream of without it.

The "open" part is what worries me. Open source software is in general open. And nearly always the weaker competition. But let's see how it goes

Can’t see if Steinberg, Ableton, ProTools, Logic Pro, Reason adopting it if ever…Tiles wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 9:12 am The "open" part is what worries me. Open source software is in general open. And nearly always the weaker competition. But let's see how it goes![]()

Nooooooo they changed the numbering...
From the video:
...Fl Studio 2024, but let's call it Fl Studio 24...
Happy to see Clap supported, i hope other DAW's will join the party too, even Steinberg tbh!
The stutter addition is amazing, Fl pianorol is always the best. It's also nice to see some plugin added for free along the new synth!
Also other features are really good, it's nice to see a good development like that.
Unfortunatly i don't use Fl anymore, because of C/R auth mode (was reg key before), along poor cpu performance.
But nothing is perfect, and Fl is an amazing DAW

While I agree that it's hard to imagine Steinberg ever adopting this, I'm pretty certain that both Ableton and Reason will get CLAP, but both DAWs also took frustratingly long to adopt VST3.mdx4ever wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 9:34 amCan’t see if Steinberg, Ableton, ProTools, Logic Pro, Reason adopting it if ever…Tiles wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 9:12 am The "open" part is what worries me. As for Pro Tools, I'm pretty sure I remember Avid being one of the interested parties when CLAP was announced, so don't just rule them out yet.
As for Apple/Logic... that's almost as uncertain as Steinberg. But if EVERY DAW except Cubase and Steinberg supported CLAP, it would be a dream both for developers and users.
