Not sure if it helps you after half a year but someone other might find this useful:

I wanted something cheap and small for giging. After some research I opted for Mininova because it was cheap and I liked performance features.

It works great for giging - it's relatively small and easy to transport. Controls panel layout makes sense, presets can be found easily. Keybed is cheap and prone to breaking (Novation is said to send you spare parts for free if you ask them nicely), but it has good velocity responsivity and I find it usable.

But I don't like much of the built-in sounds. Lots of them is some 2010 EDM stuff which is unusable for me. But there are some good ones - notably Wurligig, few organs, Novachord, Minimoog-ish synth, string machine, some nice bases and TB303ish patch.

It's possible to change these sounds but you need to use editor on your PC because menu diving on synth itself it's for brave ones only. It's sound engine looks quite capable and I am currently experimenting with what I can squeeze from it. Only downside with that is there is no description what's inside wavetables.
