Rhythmic train sounds?

Hope this is the correct forum to ask. I'm hoping to find a (or collection of) nice rhythmic train sound(s). Always loved that chugga-chugga-chugga-chugga of trains. I have Decent and Labs -- maybe one or two others. No luck thus far.

Any sample libraries or synths that might offer a preset or three of something along those lines? (Preferably free or cheap  )

Thanks

Cant speak to specifically rhythmic sounds, but you could try the freetousesounds stuff.

Or a Sound Effect portal sells a few train libraries, one at around $12 then other from $30 or so

How does a "rhythmic steam train" sound come about? It's the release of steam (noise) but pulsating. So you can recreate it with a burst of noise triggered on repeat in any tempo you like.

Good luck!

he didnt specifically say steam train; modern locomotives/carriages can be fairly rhythmic, its mostly the interaction of wheels and track I think.

There's even a WP on it...

is the rhythm not from the clackety clack of the wheels?
yes, engines also cycle, with transients, but if someone in the street said to me, do a train with rhythm, id go clackety clack, clackety clack

Yeah, I think that's probably where I'll find the most success. It's a great community for sure. Was just hoping for something I could easily lock into the bpm via MIDI.

My 17-yo son has been an avid railfanner and photographer since he could talk. He has countless videos of trains on his phone (as do I). They’d all be recorded on iPhones, but I could upload a few of them to Google Drive for you, if that would work?

Wow, that's very generous of you. Yeah, if you have the time, please. But no hurries.

And that's an awesome pastime for your son, I think. :)
