Hi folks,

I remember a while ago i saw a plugin announced that could bring a stream (Spotify, Tidal, whatever) into your DAW. I guess for sampling or referencing.

But extensive googling turns up nothing. Anyone have any ideas? Perhaps i dreamt it? :ud:

You mean using those codecs on your own Audio, or just grabbing audio from them?

The first would be this. https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/prod ... liner.html

I don't think that's it, i mean a plugin that will bring the Spotify stream into your DAW. So i guess you will need to log in to Spotify in the plugin?

But i really don't know, i just saw some blurb about it and thought "that looks cool", but now i can't find it.

Perhaps useful but that isn't it either! I don't want the audio going through the OS, my impression was that the (perhaps fictional?) plugin streamed the audio directly into the plugin.

Was Loopback the thing you were reading about?

Oooh, that looks useful :tu: . Looks like it's $10, so even if it's shite it's not much money to throw away. I might have to bite, sometimes I just want a little snippet of audio for sampling, but have to rip a whole vid to audio and chop it up - a pita usually. This looks like one of those plugins I didn't know I needed until I realised things can be so much easier than what I currently do.

Wasn't AudioMovers Inject was it?

Thanks, i think that's it.

I tried it, seems pretty buggy (in Samplitude Pro X).

Anyone have any more luck with it?

Also, seems a bit scary to log in to things like Spotify in this "browser"!
(i know i posted earlier that i was expecting to do that, but now i did it, it feels weird! :hyper: )

It's perhaps this one, but it's only for regular radio stations and not subscription-based streaming services: https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/ ... 3941-Radio

On Mac SoundPaste (now sure how active the development is but it worked fine when I demoed it)

On Mac Audio Hijack is probably the standard for sampling any audio.

Rogue Amoeba charge $77 for Audio Hijack. Bit pricey, perhaps.

If you're on mac you can just install Blackhole, set it (Blackhole 2ch) as your output device in SysPrefs, set your host to recieve Blackhole 2ch, and all audio from browsers and apps (unless separately configurable) will go to your host.
