Sweetwater has just put Studio One on sale, including "Free Update to Version 7".
Version 7 does indeed seem to be on the verge of being announced and/or released.

Really hoping for revamped automation with part containers and easy reassignment to any parameter of any plugin.
Here’s the link, btw:
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... s-versions
Software must be registered with PreSonus by 10/9/2024
Perhaps a hint of the v7 release timeframe?
v1.0: September 2009
v2.0: October 2011
v3.0: May 2015
v4.0: May 2018
v5.0: July 2020
v6.0: September 2022
v7.0: October 2024?

Well I’m excited. Any guesses on features? I feel like it will be interesting to see what direction they go.
Bitwig 6 • Diva, Dune, Serum, and UVI Falcon are my Daily Drivers • Drum Machines • Harrison 32c + DSM 3 + American Class A Enjoyer • Apple M4 Max • Apollo User • DJ • Dance Music is life

My concern is that they will tighten the thumbscrews even further with regard to perpetual license in favor of subscription.

Last 2 major versions my wishes was:
1. New creative and modern Sampler.
2. FX containers like splitter, but with option to automate bypass.
3. FX automation inside events. (Like region automation in Logic). Now you can only automate midi.
4. Macro knobs automation. Not assigned parameters, but knob itself. One parameter to rule them all. (Like... c'mon guys...).
5. Some kind modulation system aka bitwig.
6. Layered audio events (so u can layer couple of impacts or risers inside one event, with fades and event FXs.)
So, I hope in v7 they will add something of that kind.

Studio One Pro 7 will be released on October 9th, 2024.
Prime & Artist editions are dropped, only Pro stays going forward.
New licenses will offer support for 1 year of updates. Afterwards you can keep on using your perpetual license forever.
Includes all paid instruments and effects, including Lead Architect (previously only available in Studio One +).
$199 - Regular, $149 - Upgrade.

Pretty interesting. Basically going the Bitwig route to licensing and releasing updates.
They didn't give any information on new features. Just basically pricing and how they are going to release updates more often (3-4 times a years).

199 / 149 are very fair prices for one of the best DAWs. I think this actually is quite a smart move. My only wishes in S1 are parameter modulation via lfo, stepper device and so on. Inplace pianoroll would be nice, of course, too

The Bitwig route. Paid yearly upgrades. Keep your version (duh), and a healthy $150 upgrade cost.
Man, those upgrades better be mind blowing. FL is free for upgrades for life......
Not everyone likes the Bitwig upgrade system that Presonus seems to have taken on. I sure dont, but not everyone feels the same as me. I have a S1 version 6 license, I wont upgrade unless its a huge upgrade to features, and UI. If its the same ol, same ol, then no I wont do it. FL Studio keeps bangin out great updates, and its free. You really cant beat that model.

If they don’t update their browser and add tagging to our user content and presets. They can keep it. You can see their sales dropped and that’s why they had to re think their marketing strategy ( the geniuses thought they were gonna pimp their customers ) how’d that work out for ya?
So sick of these money grabs, without actually adding the features people have been asking about for over a decade now.
