Welcome to the the One Synth Challenge:
It's a friendly music competition where you can win cool prizes but most importantly, meet amazing musicians, and learn a lot about mixing, sound design, and more!







This Month's Synth:
The Six-Traq is a software instrument for Microsoft Windows (VST2/VST3/CLAP/AAX) and Apple macOS (VST2/VST3/CLAP/AU/AAX) simulating the classic Sequential Circuits Six-Trak synthesizer from 1984. It is written in native C++ code for high performance and low CPU consumption as all synths made by this true prolific prodigy of synth plugins.

Hi, I am new to the challenges, I have a quick question after having read the rules for submissions. Is it ok to use sequencers or arpeggiator vsts outside the synth or just the sequencers etc. that are part of the synth? They are not mentioned explicitly in the rules (or maybe I got it wrong?).

Everything midi can be generated as you want.
As long as it's an 'original composition' from you.
Only sound sources and audio effects are subject to rules...

Hi, this is the (easier) time to try with a single instance entry and i prepared a midi routed Reaper Project for this (shared in Discord channel). Now i was thinking to use program changes from reacontrolMIDI and wanted create a reabank for SixTraq .There is a way to extract in textual form presets names list from SixTraq? Thanxxxxx and ciaooo

any tips on how to make a sine wave with a pitch envelope ?
all i found was the saw, tri and the square .. and no pitch env..

The Pitch envelope sits right there in the Oscillator section. For a pure Sine you may better use the filter with high resonance. I also recommend to check out the manual here: https://fullbucket.de/music/dl.php?file ... manual_1_0

i spent about 1 hour with that envelope and it acted not like i was expecting. for example, instead of going higher and higher pitch with the decay, it leveled out quickly, and just became longer instead

but thank you very much im sure many here will enjoy the challenge.

What kind of acid did you take? What old gem are you even talking about. You're acting like this synth is some sort of rare great thing... God damn I hate these yes men. Just admit it, this synth sucks and that's cool, that's why it's a challenge. But don't go around pretending it's some sort of special sauce.... Damn..

It's functionally limited, but I don't think it's fair to say it sucks because of that. Would you say the Roland SH-101 sucks? 'Cause this is basically 6 SH-101's. Except this is polyphonic. And has full MIDI implementation. I think it's kinda neat and it sounds pretty good to my ears.

Would I choose to use this over most other synth plugins outside of the OSC? Probably not, but I think it's an interesting instrument, nonetheless.
