there are lots of modulation envelopes for max4live, but i cant find an amplitude one. it would be cool to be able to trigger it with a midi note.

any suggestions ?

Thanks for the tips but none of these do what i need. I want to apply an amp envelope on the kick to shape a shorter decay on distorted kicks. so i can make it shorter. these two only allow ducking the bass line.

It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

You could just use the Ableton envelope follower and map it to the volume parameter of an utility plugin. Afaik STFU and similar plugins cannot react to the input signal, so they will apply the envelope statically / synched to the DAW tempo, eg triggered on every 4/4 bar, but not dynamically based on the audio input. That's pretty useless, unless you are making very robotic EDM-type music with very static drums that are quantized exactly to the beat.

If you want something more sophisticated, I would suggest getting Cableguys VolumeShaper, which can react to the input signal, has great shapes and great visualization. You can run it's demo version for now and render out the processed signal. The demo has no limitations, except you can only load one module at the time and you cannot save or recall your settings.

thanks for the tip but i have done that before. it doesnt work as i wish, since the curve of the volume in utility is exponencial.
i thought of volume shaper too, but that means leaving max4live and have to add another midi track to trigger volumeshaper.

No, you don't have to add another MIDI track for VolumeShaper. As I indicated: it can be triggered by the input signal itself (it basically has an envelope filter built in).

You prefer a linear volume curve? Exponential and logarithmic curves sound much more natural!
