Has anyone tried out the latest Mini PCs ? I was looking to pick up a Mini as my second PC, and was thinking of running a DAW and a few synths on it. Mostly light stuff, just a few tracks of audio and midi. How do these hold up ?

I was looking at these two....

Beelink SER8 AMD Ryzen™ 7 8845HS MINI PC 8 Cores/16 Threads Frequency up to 5.1GHz

Beelink SER9 AMD Ryzen™ AI 9 HX 370 Processor 12C/24T AI PC Turbo Frequency 5.1GHz

Either of those two will run a lot more than a "few tracks of audio and midi" !

They should handle anything you throw at them. Amazing value in such a small package. Expandable as well. I guess the only possible downside is how quiet they actually are in practise.

If the rumours are correct, then Apple are bringing out their new smaller Mac mini in a few weeks, which is supposed to be re-designed to be very small, with 16GB of ram as standard. It should be silent. So assuming that Apple price it right, it could be a toss up between a mini PC and a Mac mini.

Yes, good point. At the end of Oct we should have great choices.

I like the idea of these mini PCs, though I'll reserve any opinions until after the reviews come in.
