You might know some of the hardware samplers that use 32 GiB SD / SDHC cards.
However, those are becoming rare and the hardware(s) usually can't use anthing bigger.
Format 64, 128, and 256 MiB SD Cards as 32 MiB SD Cards?
Can it be done?
Will they work in the hardware?
Do you have to use a computer to partition the SD cards?
Would that even work???
If you have any experience with this topic, please reply.

Me thinks the limiting factor is that these devices only support FAT32. You can create multiple partitions on such a drive:
However, your sampler might decide not to cooperate.
So in essence, a flash drive is "just another drive", so the regular tools should work.windowscentral.com wrote: If you have to work with a flash drive formatted using FAT32, you can only use up to 32GB of space.

If you are talking about the Roland SP-404 Mkii, then the latest firmware allows for using other sizes of SD cards. But older versions (before version 2.0 I believe) don't. So you will need at least one 32 GB SD card in order to do the firmware update if you have an old version.
Also, 32GB of sample data is huge, so there is no reason why you would need larger sizes.
