Lead sound in Sorbitol by Men i Trust

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to identify the lead synth sound in Sorbitol by Men I Trust. It has a unique, almost vocal-like quality, as if it's emulating vowel sounds rather than a typical synth tone.

Does anyone know if this is a specific synth (maybe something known for formant or vocal emulation) or if there are particular techniques that could recreate this? Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, if there are specific soft synths or patches that could come close, I'd love to hear about those too.

I didn't know this track, but listening to it, I don't hear any vowel sounds. If you mean the melody at the beginning of the song, that is a classic synth sound that can be heard in many tracks, for example in Moments in Love by Art of Noise. I think it originated from the Fairlight and got into the base sound set of the Emulator samplers as well. I think there was also a similar preset in the Roland D50. My Kawai K1rII has a similar sounding preset as well.
