There's a new plugin called "Eternal Arps" by Pitch Innovations which is half instruments/ half arpeggiator. You can use its own sounds or load external VST/AU plugins inside it.
I made a quick "Getting Started" video to highlight some of the features:

I assume there is a way to capture the MIDI out put, right?

It looks pretty cool (although not as good as Logic's built-in MIDI arp plugin IMO) but are you restricted to one-note-wonders? In other words, can it run its patterns based on the chords that you are using, rather than just the root note with a drop down menu to select chord types (maybe that's what the "Live" button is for?)?

the manual says you can record MIDI to a track in the DAW, so I think your answer is "yes"Touch The Universe wrote: Wed Nov 13, 2024 5:32 pm I assume there is a way to capture the MIDI out put, right?

yes, "Live" mode seems to do exactly that, it responds to the notes and chords you play "live"cryophonik wrote: Wed Nov 13, 2024 5:37 pm It looks pretty cool (although not as good as Logic's built-in MIDI arp plugin IMO) but are you restricted to one-note-wonders? Hey, you beat martiu to the punch. So far, I am having a blast with this new take on the arpeggiator. It’s capable of some extremely intricate arps and works great for melodies and rhythms. The plug-in hosting is a feature that I haven’t given a spin yet, but I plan on it.

it should also work as a MIDI FX (haven't tried yet) so you can use it to control any VST/AU and (I believe) also external MIDI gear...

If you are into Ambient especially generative type Ambient this is a fantastic plugin to work alongside of Harmony Bloom
I am using a Launch Pad Pro MK3 to send chords to multiple instances of Harmony Bloom, adding an instance or two of Eternal Arps especially with plucky sounds is a totally different flavor that sounds awesome

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

I got this yesterday in a "mega" deal that included multiple plugins for $10. Honestly, it's OK but it creates a lot of rather blasé and unmusical arpeggios. I like that it comes with a few built in sounds (the pan drum is quite nice). While I can see it being a fun add-on for the price I paid, I'd never want to pay anywhere even near its regular sales price. You can't actually program the arpeggio or introduce swing early, nor can you determine note order (up/down/random/as played), which is fundamental to most arpeggios.
The several triggerable arpeggio patterns are not independently interchangeable or customizable beyond a certain point. this thing begs for a simple sequencer interface that is missing.
It's not a bad plugin but I find it uninspiring for the most part. Several years after its release, the documentation continues to state that the manual is in "beta" which is not encouraging. Surely a couple of days of solid effort could get it to wear it needs to be.
That's my early take on this. Perhaps time will surprise me but I don't see this becoming a part of my regular workflow.
