You can go really granular with BlueCat MB-5 or ToneBoosters MBC. I'm liking MB-5 a lot.

An odd one that i like to use is spark multi-band from MIA labs. Though, closer competition for it would be something like FF Saturn. eg. its a multi-band distortion with 3
types of compression algs for each band, + a wideband.
pretty cheap for BF atm as well.

Minimal Audio Fuse usually or WAP XTT for even more extreme up/down compression and Ozone for the Master sometimes. I really like Toneboosters MBC but don’t see the point in buying it when I have others, plus I already have too many plugins as it is

Flux Alchemist and the Precision Multiband Dynamics in UAD DSP. Like Pro-MB, but i think it works better as an upwards expander than as a downwards comp. i find the reaction time kind of sluggish on most of the Fabfilter dynamic stuff when it's reducing dynamic range. Probably just don't jive too well with their implementing of program dependency

Minimal Audio Fuse Compressor for sound design, like an OTT on steroids.
Fab filter Pro-MB for fixing specific mix/master issues.
Leapwing DyneOne for general mix/master enhancement.

I like the Jamin standalone mastering app that we have on Linux and FreeBSD. I wonder whether there is something similar on Mac and Windows, paid or not.
Jamin has multiband compression, limiter, stereo management, parametric and graphic EQ in one package, and all these save their values in one present file.
