hey guys, i didnt want to buy new stuff but i see it is on sale with a tempting price and i saw some tutorial with Cube which got me interested.

Cube.
the GUI seems very unique and spacial but i got kontakt libraries which have also beautiful guis and under the hood are clunky and nothing special.
so i wanted to nearly pull the buy trigger but i saw it doesnt even have granular synthesis which is kinda a big MEH. stacking up 8 samples is nice but nothing special, the movement and randomizations seem kinda nice but what else?

Beam
again very fancy GUI but is it anything special, different to e.g. Portal?

what are your opinions on these?

thx

Hi, I got Cube many months ago on sale. Never used it in a project. Seemed interesting initially but I wouldn't buy again.

I demoed cube and didn't really get along with it. My experience may have been partially colored by plugin boutiques rent to own setup which forces you to authorize the plugin through their beatport desktop software and I was having some issues.

As for the plugin itself, I felt like I could do mostly the same thing with an xy instrument in bitwig but you can put anything you want in there and not just a basic sampler.

I like it for pads, and it is fun to play with the orbits. Databroth has some good videos on Youtube featuring Cube. I'm impressed by its sounds and possibilities.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

thanks guys, i wanted to demo these but well no demos available...

Here is a link and a code for a free cube mini license ,it should still work but it’s possible it’s already been used so I apologize if it doesn’t work

I think Cube does have a touch of style over substance. It's a fancy way of crossfading samples. Still good fun though to drop in random samples.

I think Beam's interface, on the other hand, is actually really useful as it's an excellent visualisation of the actual routing. ie. There's substance to its style.

It's the routing in beam that makes it stand out, imho. You can have any combination of parallel/serial etc. with beam. It's an extremely flexible multi effect.

I just upgraded to the full bundle. So far I don't regret it.

I sent it to you in a private message and removed the code here. If you already had it maybe someone else could use the code I sent. Anyway I just reinstalled it on my new computer while reading this thread,it’s pretty cool,I recommend it for sure

Cube is awesome, great sounds and expansions and the sound design is really fun. Use it in a lot of productions and one of the few plugins I enjoy creating my own sounds with. Very underrated plugin!

Cube is a simple ROMpler with some clever touches like the orbits. The main thing you are buying is the preset/sample libraries which have a clearly defined aesthetic. Randomization gives good results because of the consistent style. The synthesis engine isn’t too complex but there’s room to tweak presets and the effects sound good. Take a listen to the demos and know that you’re buying the sounds more than a deep sound design tool. I like the aesthetic and use it frequently for “organic” sounding pads.

thx guys, but can you import samples and folders and then randomize these samples or does it randomize only factory samples?

thanks i just found the Cube Mini License in my Plugin Boutqiue Account, i knew i got it some time ago but never installed. I just checked, you cannot import user samples there sadly in the Mini version. it would be great if you know it, but only if you got the time ! :) appreciate it!
cause this would be neat if you could throw in some hundred samples and randomize and then let the orb play and randomize this one and get some crazy blending results.
