Underrated:
Melda effects. Especially their Turbo series.

Also a grand piano plugin isnt a effect (an AIR piano being better than Pianoteq sure is a opinion though...).

I didn't want to start another thread for instruments, I refer to plugins in general and decided to post it here.
Well, Pianoteq still sounds too plastic to me and that's not just my opinion, but I like the morphing feature to create "strange" sounding instruments.
I don't record classical or piano only music and mini grand always sits perfectly in a mix together with other instruments and it's very light on cpu.
I prefer sampled instruments over physical modeling.
The only not bad physical modeling instrument plugin I know is Modo drums.
