Wotja: Live Generative Music

Post

Wotja is a powerful & FREE system for on-device generation of Live Generative Music & MIDI. It is actively developed by us at Intermorphic, meaning it continues to evolve.

It also has a distinguished provenance, being the consolidation and continued evolution of 1992+ SSEYO Koan, 2000-2007 intent Sound System (incl. APRE) & SSEYO miniMIXA, 2007+ Noatikl, 2007+ Liptikl, 2008+ Mixtikl & 2012+ Tiklbox.

Wotja website & resources:
Moving forwards, this thread is the main active thread on the KVR forum that we (Intermorphic) will monitor for everything related to the Wotja App as we continue to update it. Of course, there is nothing to stop you creating your own threads if you wish!

Hi Folks.

Wotja 25.0.0 is a major update and we expect it to be released and 12:00 am GMT Jan 1st 2025 (or so we have set up the App store releases) i.e. about 6 hours from now.

GET WOTJA: https://wotja.com/get.

With any luck our website should be updated around about then, too (+/- 3 hrs or so maybe!).

What that means for availability in for your time zone we are not quite sure so you may need to be patient - but rest assured it will not be long before you can get your hands on it... :)

A huge amount of work has already gone into Wotja 25 and remember that this is just the first update in the Wotja 25 Product Cycle.

If you find you enjoy Wotja 25 then please do leave a nice App Store review (or update an earlier one) - these help us a lot. :). Thank you!

If you have any issues with Wotja 25 then please do reach out to us via this forum thread or our website Contact Form so we can look to fix them (but not an App Store review and those are poorly suited to support). NB: We may need to have a bit of a breather first, as we have been nose to the grindstone for months. Thank you, and thank you for your patience!

It's great to see you're still going. I had Noatikl way back, was starting to get familiar and fell off the world. Looking forward to using Wotja.

A friend of mine was using Noatikl years ago and it seemed like an interesting piece of software. I just read the description and the features included in the updated version of Wotja. And it definitely caught my attention.

When I get some time, I think that I’ll try Wotja out for myself. But even before I try it, I would certainly like to give some props to the people who are developing it. It must be a lot of work to create something so unique. Cheers! :tu:

Thank you very much! Yes, we are still going and have never stopped :). Developing and continuing to evolve niche apps like Wotja is not for the faint of heart shall we say... What keeps us going, however, is knowing that there are people who get a lot from it. We hope you have fun using it, and enjoy how we continue to evolve it! Best wishes from Tim and Pete.

Thank you very much for the kind words which are very much appreciated! Yes, Wotja is (and always has been) a lot of work, but we feel there continues to be a place for it and for what it uniquely does. It is quite a deep thing to really get into (and Wotja rewards experimentation), but we hope you have fun with it however you use it! Best wishes from Tim and Pete.

I've been loosely keeping up since the Koan/chromedome days (minus the dropout). I've got the free version up and running, as soon as i get familiar i'll be sending some money your way so that i can get into the nuts and bolts. Would like to see a User Manual with charts and such and would really like a downloadable pdf. I have good internet conn for only the third time in 2.5 decades and that may change soon, but i'm content with on line and impressed with Wotja!

Had Wotja 4 and now paid $39.99 for the new Wotja 5. :)
This was the single most difficult purchase I have made since the start of the New Year.
Very happy that I made the purchase and $aved.
I hope I will get to play with it soon.

Hi folks, I'm having an issue, and I'm wondering if someone can test the AUV3 for me on Ableton Live 12.1 on a Mac. I'm using the AUV3 plugin, and whenever I close the plugin window and reopen it, the whole plugin is greyed out (Though the music continues to play). I have to re-instantiate the plugin to view the interface again.

I'm trying to determine if this issue is unique to my system. Thank you.

Post

Is anyone using the AUV3 version of Wotja in any host? I'm trying to find out if the issue I'm having is Ableton-specific.

I just discovered this app.. WOW this is awesome. I have been looking for an app. like this for quite some time to help supplement my 32 bit H.G. Fortune VSTi's and Rob Papen's "Blade 2" and "GO2x" on my PC. I bought the Android version though, because I wanted to be able to create soundscapes without having to carry my laptop around. However I did give up on looking for this type of app. on Android a long time ago because I couldn't find anything that was worth my time. It seemed like no one bothered to do something like this for Android. Maybe I just didn't come across it. But the other day I said to myself, "Self" let me see if there has been anything new for music apps.. Then I found Wotja. Thank you for a fantastic app.. Next I will get the PC version. I will say that the learning curve is steep for me but I will push through. I apologize for the rambling but I am so happy to have discovered Wotja.

Hey, thank you very much for sticking with us!

Sorry for the delay in response - we don't often check forums to see questions (unless we're named with e.g.
