Hello everyone
I recently came across a workflow hurdle regarding the use of XO with Splice
Let's say I have a song where I use XO but dislike some of the drum sounds I've selected
I go on Splice and browse for some new ones. I buy them and they go to my Splice folder.
XO prompts me to Rescan my folders to get the new sounds in
However this rescan seems to take 2-3 minutes each time
Obviously I don't want to wait 3 minutes each time I get a new sample from Splice.
Is there an easier way to go about this?
Is there a way to import samples directly into XO and skip the rescan?
How would one go about in a situation like this?
Kind regards

So how would I go about getting the Splice samples into XO then?

When you choose a sample copy it to a folder scanned by XO, only then you will have to wait for the scan.
But maybe I don't understand the question well...

Sorry, maybe I fail to explain the issue properly
The problem is not getting the Splice samples into XO.
The problem is that the scan itself is taking quite long. Around 2-3 minutes each time. Which is frustrating when you are in the flow of making music
So I was wondering if there are any workaround in order to minimize the scan time when adding new samples, so I don't have to wait each time
I would like to be able to do the following:
- 1) Buy a Splice sample
- 2) It goes to my Splice folder
- 3) It appears in XO instantly
Something similar to the way it happens in ADSR Sample Manager for example where the new sample appears pretty much instantly in the file manager when you buy it
Thanks again

I think the bigger your sample library gets, the longer the scan takes. I don't even know how many folders I have in XO at this point, but it's around 0.75-1 TB of samples and a scan takes forever now. Maybe XLN can improve this with update at some point.
