Kickdrum Whoosh

Every time the kick hits on this sample there's what sounds like a whoosh playing with it. it's over exaggerated but don't think it's a cymbal bc i also notice the same kind of whoosh on some other acoustic kick samples and some gm orch hits. maybe it's the sound of the pedal or reverb or something. anyone know how to replicate this?

thanks for your reply. i got 2 more samples. hopefully they're better examples. 1 is an orch hit and the other is a kick. (sorry for the short sample length but i'm trying to conserve free space.) on the orch hit i'm hearing the hit and a gust of wind-like air over the other instruments. on the kick i'm hearing 3 phases: the initial hit, an ever so slight gust of wind, then finally the tail end that sounds like a pitch decay or something. slowing it down in audacity made it a lot easier to hear. maybe it's an artifact. i'm using a laptop with generic, ok-quality headphones. can you please listen and tell me if i'm insane? would like to know how to recreate these wind-type sounds.

i’m not around my monitors or good headphones so it’s possible i’m not hearing whatever you are but could it be the compression you’re hearing, causing a sort of sucking/pumping thwack type effect? those samples are sort of all over the place, perhaps it would be easier if you had a few similar kick samples (without hi hats like the first one has) that it was happening on and we could try and identify it by what they all have going on. ill try to remember to listen later on monitors. i have a feeling it’s the compression though, or maybe reverb. the second sample has way too much going on and the first has that hi hat so i’m mostly going by the third sample

Do you mean a sort of whoomp after the initial hit that you feel rather than clearly hear?

If so that is reverb and likely a result of compression, esp seeing these are taken from a mix and not clean sounds.

Likely what you feel is a mixing result. While you can go into a composition doing this, you will likely create big issues for yourself as you try to move past the drum/bass loop. I worry you are making things harder for yourself by attacking this music thing head-on. Real Art is always come at sideways. Work with someone who has genuine experience (which is almost never people making 10 Tipz n Trix Tutz on Yooboob).

thank you all for your answers. they are appreciated. sorry it took so long to respond but to no avail i was looking for some better samples. benedict i did mean that whoomph. the easiest example to hear that i found was the windoz gm orch hit that comes with your soundcard/sound chip. not sure what it is on mac. after studying and comparing yooboob vids (lol) it seems it was the reverb and you can use a hihat to recreate it quickly. people who filtered the noise seemed to get a decent replication. probably what jaylewisham was suggesting. i am looking for good design classes to take though.
