Just went to using a 4k monitor and wanted to get some ideas on project layouts people use as their default template? Nice having 4 times more screen real estate over my old 1920x1080 monitor.

#1 rule, make sure the monitor is large enough so you don't have to enlarge the cubase GUI (by much if at all), but not too large that you have to turn your head to see stuff. I find 40 = 48" about perfect if you're sitting around 3' away.

For the layout, it depends on what I'm doing -- I like to keep some empty windows space on the right for stuff like notes/websites/folders/etc so I don't have to cycle windows most of the time. I'll maximize Cubase it I'm purely recording/working. Other than that I don't do anything special.
Have you tried Vital?

I went with 50" and sit about 36" away. I have so far put the mixer across the very top, the arrange window at the bottom, with the CPU meter and VST selector along the right hand bottom section together. I like that I can open my plugins all the way, see them, and not have them clip off of the screen now thankfully. That was my main reason going 4k. I wish all plugins would allow any percentage of scaling, but some are stuck with 100/125/150/175/200, etc and wasn't very happy with things getting cut off.
