I've sworn of preset browsing and sample digging; I want to streamline my music production process so that there's as little idling around as possible. Thus I want to learn how to become good and quick at designing synth patches from init.

Many of you guys will have far more experience doing this than I have. Could you please share your "standard process" for designing synth patches from init efficiently? I'm looking for some inspiration and information.

My main synth is Wavetable in Ableton btw.

Practice. Intelligent and then just doing to see what happens so that your brain builds lots of little connections in a massive neural spreadsheet it will then access.

It isn't a process anywhere near so much as a mindset. Art can only ever be come-at sideways. A process is head-on and while it can appear to make wins, it creates more fails and bottlenecks. Grandma never used recipes but her cooking was amazing because she did it with Love - came at it sideways with the advantage of decades of memories of how things combine.
