Hello all,

I'm running Geist and Geist2 in Logic Pro 10. I have an Arturia Keylab which has both a keyboard section (Ch 1). and a pad section (Ch 10). Unfortunately Geist seems to only be receiving from Channel 1 despite the plugin being set to receive from all channels, and drum channels traditionally being in Channel 10. My drum pads and keyboards are sending the same notes, just on different channels, and only the keyboard signals will register in Geist/Geist2. I'm not running a complicated use case, I'm just playing real drums from a Geist pack in the plugin. I don't see any kind of "global MIDI setting' within Geist itself, just in Logic -- where it's already set to receive all input. Can anyone help me trouble shoot?

Note as a test I set it specifically to receive from Channel 10, none of the pads register. I also tried remapping the drum pads to various other Channels (2, 3, etc.) and none of them registered unless it was on Ch 1. So Geist is only receiving on Ch 1 even though in Logic it's set to receive on all channels.... not sure how to fix? lol.

Thank you so so much :)

why can't you run everything on midi channel 1? (just curious; if i'm recording drums from drum pads, that's what i'm doing. then if i go to a synth plugin, i'll play from the keyboard; no need for different midi channels).

otherwise, might be worth asking this on the apple logic forum or logicprohelp's forum...

Hmm, I guess it's an organization thing... drums are traditionally Ch 10, and I'd like the safety of not having any accidental keyboard hits trigger drums while doing a drum take. Also sometimes I want to play them at the same time, without having to switch back and forth between a VST. (Like play a keyboard part, then a drum part, etc.)

I don't know if it's trouble with Logic. Other software instruments are registering my pads -- it's just Geist that doesn't seem to hear anything not on Ch1

am impressed if you're playing drum parts and keyboard parts at the same time (seriously).

either way... perhaps contact geist's developer? or (again), ask this on a logic-centric forum. good luck w/it!

I'll try! Geist is long discontinued and it's now under a new brand (ROLI I think).

Again all my other software instruments work, and the issue is happening with standalone Geist too so I don't think it's a Logic issue...
