LMMS is still making progress

I was reading the progress report at
https://lmms.io/forum/viewtopic.php?p=85822
https://lmms.io/forum/viewtopic.php?t=37515
Accordingly, LMMS is still being developed and a few bugs fixed too.
They have nightly builds (alpha) available and you can test them out.
I was able to finally confirm that they fixed some of the VST2 bugs that prevented me from loading VST instruments.
So, for example, now Azeta66 loads. This is useful for some really old VST classics to work (via Wine). Drag and drop seems to work too.
On the downside, just as LMMS.io forewarned, the session wasn't stable, and it crashed.
However, eventually LMMS will be released again as an updated stable edition with the updates.
Personally, I like the automatic MIDI quantizing in LMMS a lot.

It would be nice if ther'd finally be an option to record audio in it. But I don#t think that's ever happening. But overall LMMS can be fun

Listening to some of the music done in LMMS over there I am much more impressed than what I come across from the ableton/cubase etc peeps...
The SF2 player is pretty good... Eats my 82 MB single instrument SF2s I like the chord stacking & arping sector in it... first thing I did when it was hitting all those notes was look at CPU which was favorable considering all the notes being hit running through QWah & BlueDelay inside player as well...
Crash on opening ZynAddSubFX Instrument browser for whatever reason...

Did they ever get support for VST3 and CLAP? I think that's what has held them up the most

(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

i think only a few days ago they fixed a significant VST loading bug. but as far as i know frome the LMMS forum, there's no CLAP support (yet) and VST3 support doesn't exist but might be possible through some kind of adapter.
Personally, I'm still waiting for them to make the MIDI editing a bit more user friendly.
But for now, I use the "beat" thingie like an FL Studio step editor and load up tons of samples and sequence them that way.
Also, the mixer doesn't seem to have the right configuration to put a limiter on each channel and on the main output.
This was shortsighted programming, but oh well.
