ASUS TUF A17 - any good for music production?

My 8 year old Pc is dead. It wasn't upgradable to Windows 11 so I knew a replacement would be needed sooner or later; now its killed itself. I don't know much about computer specs etc. I saw the laptop above on sale in the UK (£649) it's got a big screen and enough grunt, so I thought it might do the job. I use Renoise, a few VST's, samples and outboard old synthesizers. Occasional Cubase use for mixing. I didn't want to spend too much but my wife said I should get a Mac, never used one so I don't think that's a good idea, I use Behringer BCF2000 which probably wouldn't work with it. I tried researching and ended up close to tears.

That's very cheap. Refurbished?
Surely you can make music with it. Any half-decent computer should be OK for what you want.
Maybe it requires some tweaks. Run the Latency tool of resplendence to see about that.

Use it with a MIDI cable instead of USB, and it will work.

It is impossible to predict which laptops have problems with interruptions on USB that cause dropouts.

Gaming laptops with NVidia GPU are particularly risky.
