What is going on with Overloud?

I have been trying for weeks to get an issue resolved with Overloud about an upgrade to TH-U Premium 2 and they have completely ignored me. Judging by their FB page a lot of other people are experiencing this, too.

They sure don't like to communicate at all even letting you know about new releases.. A few of us thought SpringAge, their spring reverb plugin was dead and gone up until last year. Thanks to a thread, I randomly checked the website and lo and behold it had gotten updated for Apple Silicon and VST3 and all that stuff. As a registered paid owner, never got a single word that it was ever updated. I would've gone on my merry way and never used it again had it not come up in that thread.

This is weird , I have emailed Overloud for a similar issue yesterday ...ravasb wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 10:35 pm I have been trying for weeks to get an issue resolved with Overloud about an upgrade to TH-U Premium 2
I bought a rig pack in order to upgrade to v2 for free , it worked as advertised after installing the rig pack, keeping my v1 key.
But because of a Paypal issue , I have paid for two upgrade licenses the day before ! (I thought that the transactions failed as a message told me to retry later).

I've been using TH-U for years without issue, but I've been locked out of TH-U Premium v2 since it launched. The website says "Too many de-authorizations", and so does the software, while simultaneously showing me that it's actually already licensed. emails and tweets both go unanswered. I'm considering filing an official complaint. I'm in the US. A bit of digging tells me that these are our options:
Legal Guarantees Under EU Law
• The seller must repair, replace, or refund faulty goods (including software) under a minimum 2-year legal guarantee from the date of purchase.
• If the defect appears within 1 year, the burden of proof falls on the seller (in some EU countries, this extends to 2 years).
So:
• If the company ignores requests, you may escalate by filing a complaint with Italy’s consumer protection agency (Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato) or the European Consumer Centre (ECC Italy).
1.Formal Written Complaint: Send a registered letter (via raccomandata con ricevuta di ritorno) to the company’s legal address, citing EU consumer rights and demanding resolution.
2.Consumer Protection Agencies:
• File a complaint with Italy’s ECC (European Consumer Centre Italy) for cross-border disputes.
• Contact the Antitrust Authority if the company engages in unfair commercial practices.
3. Small Claims Court: For claims under €5,000, Italy’s Giudice di Pace (small claims court) offers a streamlined process. You may need local legal assistance.
4. Chargeback: If you paid via credit card, request a chargeback from your bank for non-functional software.
I hope that helps someone.

Hi
I am in the same situation right now.
I love TH-U and v2 and lately I have been doing tests on various Linux distro and replaced Windows on various family computers - all happy now!
Now I have installed everything else on my main PC and 90% work - others do not matter to me, but I cannot use TH-U or V2 any more or any other purchases plugin from Overloud.
To many DE-authorizations. I do not understand that.
Am I not allowed to use product I love and paid for, the way I like?
I really, really do not understand.
I had hell to make things work and most work now, and then I get this!
For example I have a lot of Arturia stuff, all installed gracefully as many times I want, I just de-authorize - if ever needed - what I do not need.
IK MUltimedia too - all work!
Are our money 'false'?
It is the second plugin (only) I had a similar problem and other dealer solves it with an email and they understand the situation many of us are in with STUPID windows and replied, do not worry - just email me!
I am do not have any interest on Apple, so Linux is the only one and I love it.
Baaaaa !

Overloud is definitely a very weird company. I haven't been able to contact them ever either.. thus I only buy their plugins IF I manage to get the plugin demo working 100% reliably and correctly. Mostly I avoid their stuff. Which is unfortunate as they do have some very high quality software.

This sounds like terrible customer service (or a complete lack thereof).
Have they always been like this? If so, I'll have to add them to my list of developers to never purchase software from.
