I just got Stylus RMX, and it's a bit heavy on the hiphop for my taste. I'm hoping to find some rock drum grooves and even some more traditional acoustic drum grooves.
As I understand it, only the newest version of the REX format can be fully used by Stylus RMX. Where would I get drum grooves in this format? Are any available for free? (I don't mind paying, but I'd rather experiment a bit first)
Where to find REX files

A lot of loop CDROM's come in REX format these days, so check with your favorite maker of loops. However, you should definitely check out the Backbeat XPander for RMX. It's coming out in a few weeks and it sounds like that's what you're looking for.

Doug, you want REX 2 files (with the extension .rx2). A Google search will find some for you, although most are not necessarily free.Doug Nelson wrote:I just got Stylus RMX, and it's a bit heavy on the hiphop for my taste. Glenn was right -- you should check out the Backbeat and Burning Grooves expanders to RMX which will ship shortly. (But if you already own the Groove Control version of Backbeat, the SAGE converter utility that ships with RMX will convert it. Burning Grooves was never released in Groove Control format, so I'm not sure how Spectrasonics is going to handle that one.)
You can find free REX files here:

...but finding the style you want might be tricky.
You'll definitely find the style(s) you want here:
http://www.drumsondemand.com/
http://www.sessionloops.com/
http://www.bigfishaudio.com/
...but they won't be free. Top quality, though.
