There is only one ping, and now thanks to the miracle of sampling you can have all of them! In SFZ format. (WAV file is included so you can use it as you please.)

Sampled from version 1.0.0.0 of the 64-bit edition using DirectWave.

Let me know if there are any issues, or I guess issue since there is one ping only.

Yes, nice "pings".

But I thought they had "one ping only". I hear at least two pings
in every sample. But ... ok ... I can live with that. You can get started
right away with the sfz file. :D

Thank you very much for the many pings! :tu:

I have updated it to be one ping only. While the only serious part of this process has been learning SFZ file creation, I have also been learning details about OnePingOnly that I never though I would. I didn't realize that it had delay controls because in most cases they were so far down the list of controls that most DAWs simply give up and don't show them. But once I found them, I could turn the delay off and that made the output samples much better. I figured I could add the delay effect via SFZ. Heh. It may technically be possible, but the documentation I could find for SFZ is of the type that I call "written by programmer." It's only useful if you don't need it because you can only find answers if you already know the answer.

I learned how to tame OnePingOnly using Reaper because it has a good representation of the controls (less pretty = more useful) and will save out a preset in FXP format.

I learned how to auto-sample a VST using DirectWave.

I learned how to batch process (trim trailing silence) WAV files using GoldWave. This was necessary because the max duration for a ping is 15 seconds but most are about 1 second long.

I learned how to create SFZ files using scripting in UltraEdit to write a line for each "region".

I didn't learn how to add a delay effect to a SFZ. I couldn't find any other SFZ files out there that have it, either. Does anyone know how to do it?

Yes, I know that nobody wants this. I'm an old man trying something new and it's much easier to do when it doesn't matter.

Yes, now you really only hear a single ping. One ping only!
Thank you for your contribution!

Well, you can't say that. In the wake of creative work, it may well be
that you need an unusual sample. Especially in the world of free
samples we have such great resources - all kinds of samples - from
application-specific bread and butter instruments to completely
unusual, rare samples and sounds.

In this respect, every contribution – especially rare, unusual ideas
and samples – is welcome.

But I still have one suggestion: You could create a separate SFZ in
which a single, particularly good-sounding "ping" is distributed
across the keyboard in such a way that you could even play a
melody with it.

Thanks pough! :)
