Hi everyone,

I've made several searches here and there and am now more confused than before. It seems the more granular engines are powerful, the less they are able to do what I'm looking for. :scared:

No, I don't want a deep soundwall. I'm searching for a granular plugin that would allow me to add harmonies and harmonics of my sound (for example -12, +7, +12, +24...), with that typical granular crackling sound so I can create a parallel sound design subtle effect. In other words, I wan't something that mimics my sound, but badly pitched, so I can get a lofi FX.

To all of you, who already use granular plugins, which ones are actually able to do this please ?

I already own Melda MGranularMB, and don't find it enjoyable to use, well I don't get what I'm looking for with it. The only alternative I know of by searching all around is Sound Particle Density, and at its price tag, I'd rather be sure there's no better other option.

Thanks a million times in advance granular people of KVR. :)

This was just released today and has harmonization if you look at that circle in the middle

...and is very cheap. For some reason I had totally missed the middle part (well, because I'm doing many things at the same time actually). Thanks a lot ! :tu:

Graindad lets you control the grain pitch with MIDI input, maybe not what you're looking for but pretty cool

OK, I already just purchased this one. Already seems to fit the bill perfectly. Damn impressive sound. Thanks again for pointing it out !

I've also tried the Tritik one and didn't managed to get the sound I was after from it : it seems "unreactive". The other ones don't seem to allow several pitch shifting at the same time (will check twice), so they'll come after if I can't do what I'm after. My Blue Cat Patchwork will work this out, but first I'm trying those that can harmonize at least three tones at the time.

Manipulator does some fun midi controlled harmonizing. I'd recommend reaktor if you have komplete. Saltygrain from sample sumo is good. Eventide has a couple good harmonizers. I got one free and I use it a good bit.

More plugins means more sound complexity in the mix, I’ll try them all.

The eventide one is quadravox. I don't recall why I got it for free but it sounds great. I use it on bass guitar often to come up with little chords progressions. The waves harmonizer is very nice too but less obviously granular sounding. If you're into pure Data they have a lovely object called Sigmund that can be used to build all types of harmonizers by tracking input pitch.

And you can load pure data patches into plugdata to have them as VST or CLAP plugin…

Don't know if Graillon will sound granular enough but it's worth a look. The free vesion is pretty good.

Thanks very much for the replies !

As I never searched for anything that could harmonize before, I simply never paid interest to some options in a couple of plugins I know. For example I own a licence for Manipulator and never knew it could harmonize, and I've used Graillon for years without noticing also.

Thank you again for the help, much appreciated !
