Bought Sonible Entropy EQ+ on sale, and willing to try more options.

There are two freeware options available.

- VoiceOfSnow.

- And Sin/Noise from the Pitchtech bundle. The plugin STN Equalizer is also able to decompose the signal between noise and tone, but no fine tuning is proposed.
Please note that the plugins have no GUI. If you’re a Cubase user for example, you’ll have to use the basic settings view to use them. Working fine here.

Both are able to fully isolate noise from harmonic components, with very different results. You should experiment with both imho.

Just tried VoiceOfSnow. Good, but not as strong and clean effect.

Keep in mind that you’re free to stack as many as you want.
Sin/Noise lets you choose the color of the noise you want to isolate.

Tried SplitEQ from Eventide.
Good sound, but more focused on transient/tonal isolation..
