TBProAudio releases TBPAVolume, a DAW plugin built for precision gain staging and volume automation.

Image

TBPAVolume allows you to control the volume of the audio signal independently from the volume fader of the mix console. This is useful for adjusting the gain/volume between different plug-ins within a plug-in chain or for volume modulation/automation.
TBPAVolume supports sample accurate parameter automation (VST3/CLAP/AU). Alternatively parameter changes are interpolated smoothly.

Features:
  • click-free 64-bit internal processing
  • master volume fader, left/mid and right/side fader
  • left/right, mid/side processing
  • adjustable min/max volume values
  • treat min value as negative infinity
  • lock max volume to 0 dB
  • volume modulation display
  • smart power button
  • smooth parameter interpolation
  • low aliasing
  • support of sample accurate automation (VST3/CLAP/AU)
  • preset management
  • free GUI scaling
System requirements:
  • Windows 7 or newer
  • Mac OS X 10.11 or newer
  • OpenGL2
  • compatible DAW
  • Win: VST2/VST3/AAX/CLAP, 32/64 Bit
  • OS X: VST2/VST3/AAX/AU/CLAP, 64 Bit
Price: free

Nice. What can it do that standard DAW functions can't? I'm just asking because gain plugins are pretty standard.

Standard, depending on your DAW, yes!
What about stereo/L-R/M-S leveling before a particular plugin or limit volume ranges or limit volume to 0dB, regardless of the automation data or treat minimum as -inf value?

Well, it is free, so not much to loose...

This answers it, thanks.

Thanks TBProAudio for another interesting free plugin. I use ISOL8 all the time, which led me to spend money on other TBProAudio plugins, so I think it's a great strategy for you, and good for us users too.

I take away original comment.

Thank for the plugin 👍
Very useful

Great stuff TB. Very handy plugin.

Thank you.

Very nice! Great companion to ISOL8 and dpMeter. I could see this being useful on a mixbuss or in mastering if you wanted to boost the sides without compressing or EQing.

Also, still loving Impress3... best do-it-all compressor on the market!

Thank you for your work! If you have some spare time, maybe you could consider some additional features, like plugin communication or something similar for linking plugins, like this plugin here

Especially inverse linking would be great, for example for gain staging (for example like described in this thread
viewtopic.php?t=600721&start=90)
or for layering and crossfading between two sound sources.

If not, it's still a very useful plugin :tu: (In this case would you then recommend your DynaRide2 plugin or GainRider for crossfading issues? Like set a Gain Rider on a buss and the volume envelopes of subtracks would be automated, but the sum volume of the buss track should stay constant - is it possible with this plugins?)

Thanks :)

Thanks for the freebie.

Could you consider for your future plugin versions to make them able to load previous versions too? At least from the newer versions.

I mean i.e. DSEQ2 is a different plugin from DSEQ3, at least the name is different and you can have them both installed. Although ofc DSEQ2 is EOL, so in case of some OS upgrade that break the compatibility we cannot install the V2 and so correctly load older projects made with that plugin.

I see DSEQ3 is not at 3.9.7 so i guess V4 will come out anytime soon. Would be lovely if instead to be (naming wise) DSEQ4, would be just DSEQ, then the number 4 in the GUI and the internal version, so when V5 V6 or whatever will be released we will be able to load projects made with V4 just having installed the latest supported version.

I think this is very important, and to me is a selling point and a reason to buy or not a plugin. I have too many older projects broken because of this issue, fortunatelly there are some companies that works the way i suggested, so i just changed some plugins i was used to, but unfortunately there are some, like DSEQ that are just too good to found an alternative that use that method, so if you could consider that is very welcome!

We will have a look at your request. In any case syncing plugins at audiorate is tricky ...

Currently no plans to break DSEQ parameter compatibility with upcoming updates.
