I just bought a hub but haven't received it yet and can return it if I don't like it.

I want to connect a 4k monitor, an Audient iD14 audio interface, a small MIDI keyboard and maybe an SSD to it.

I want to connect the hub to a Macbook Pro 16inch with a usb-c cable and charge it at the same time.

What do you use to do this kind of job ?

This is the one I bought... (this is canadian money by the way)

I have an Anker hub that does power pass-through, USB-C to Ethernet, powers an external SSD as USB-C, and has a couple of the old USB ins, brilliantly

I've never tried to jam that much stuff into a hub. I usually try and keep relatively "low bandwidth" stuff on my hub. I have a few powered USB 3 hubs with all types of USB out. I use mine for dongles, midi controllers and a backup thumb drive that backs up my windows install every day. I try and put anything that needs bandwidth (audio interface, work drive) on its own port.

My audio interface will not work through any hub (Presonus Quantum ES2).

the Anker hub also converts USB-C to HDMI for the display taking over as primary for my MB Air.
Other than no hub has the bandwidth for the ES2, I wouldn't know from bandwidth. I experience literally zero issues with any of it today.

I have this USB-C / USB-A one. I have my monitor and audio interface, MIDI controllers, keyboard, mouse, and USB power plugged into it. I just plug it in when I want to use my MacBook as a desktop.

Stationary desktop PCs are OVER.

in my search I snagged a hub from tobenone I found cheap on ebay.

I use a Caldigit TS3+ (although now they have a TS4 and possibly higher). Fantastic hub with Thunderbolt, DisplayPort, USB-C charging, etc... Couldn't be happier with it.

I have one too with a Focusrite Saffire 24 Pro DSP, two external harddrives, Edirol PCR MIDI controller (USB) and MIDISport USB interface. Works flawlessly. I am also very happy with it.

External Monitors and SSD will work properly on USB C hubs.
You may have difficulty in making them recognize USB 2 Midi keyboards, Audio interfaces and USB dongles.
