Hi KVR Community,

I’d love to share my new algorithm plugin with you — maniFold Σ.

This plugin is primarily designed for live performance and sonic experimentation. It allows you to create deep, evolving soundscapes.

What it is:
• A micro-looper with 8 independent playheads
Each playhead processes a 5-second audio buffer in real time, with randomized position, length, panning, and playback speed (±12 semitones).

• Buffer visualization with freeze/lock functionality
Capture and manipulate specific sonic moments to use as raw material.

• A complex cluster of 32 delay lines
These aren’t standard delays — they use all-pass filters. You can set a baseDelay time and scale it across all 32 lines using a multiplier (delaySpread).

• And the cherry on top — Recirculation
Adding feedback creates dense, evolving textures reminiscent of a lush, deep reverb.

I’m sure this is great for what it is with all the features, but every time i see a new looper plugin, i get all excited and think, maybe finally, some dev will make just a simple basic “dumb” easy to operate guitar pedal type looper plugin, minimal controls (record/play/overdub/erase/volume), no tempo sync (by default but with option to sync to DaW, because i want to use it live in real time) , with easy midi CC assigning, or maybe something exactly like a Boomerang. It’s 2025, why is that so hard to do or offer a dumbed down version. I just want to easily live loop real instruments like guitar, bass, hardware synths etc. with dead simple easy operation. Don’t over complicate it with a million features the basic pedestrian musician will never use.

maniFold Σ has been updated to version 1.0!

This is a major milestone, and I’m excited to share some of the new features:

Play Head Visualization
You can now see which play heads are active and where they are in the buffer.
New bufferClear Button
Instantly clear the play/record buffer with a single click.
New mLoopShape Control
Adjusts the envelope shape for each play head, giving you more control over dynamics and articulation.
New mLoopSize Parameter
Set the minimum playback size, ranging from 500ms to 5 seconds, for more precise micro-looping behavior.
GUI Layout Improvements
Refined interface for better usability and workflow.

It looks like it has space for input and output gain, like GReverb. Will these be added?

yep I will , and probably choosing active playheads numbers you will be able to set it 1 to 8

You could make what you want in Reaktor or Max or Pure Data with a minimal amount of work. You'd also learn some things. You'd also always have the option to mod it and add more options, FX, tracks, etc.

Wow this is a very nice atmosphere inducing program.
Works well on many instruments including percussion.

My only request at this point would be can you possibly extend the max loop lengths? I guess think macro-looper.
