The album/music is great but the guitars (especially in some songs like Lachryma) the guitar sound is so weird.
How did they achieve this? It sounds like an old practice amp from the 90's mic'ed up straight away with the bass turned all the way down.

Yes they roll off the low end because, get this, that's where bass guitar and kick drum should be.
The result: a more coherent and PUNCHY mix. Guitars are very mid-heavy (as should be) - start with the Mid knob on the amp at around 7, treble is also around 7-8, too. Bass knob is likely never going above 3-4 (but it's also never actually all the way down to zero).
I seem to recall they like to mix multiple amp heads, with some Orange tube amp always being there. Probably JCM800 and/or Plexi as well.
