My latest Yamaha CS6x patches had defaulted to factory settings, when powering back up. So I figured the backup battery needed to be replaced. I've searched Google and could not find descriptions or a video, where to locate the backup battery.
So I made a short video, well composed of stills, that show where to locate and replace the data backup battery on a Yamaha CS6x. It's a standard CR2032 3 volt coin style battery. The battery it hidden under first rear cover, then I/O board, and finally a plate. Fortunately on mine at least, it was not soldered to the circuit board, but in socket so once unraveled it's easy to replace.
The video which is only 2 minutes and 34 seconds, also include some of the built-in demo songs.

Lucky for you it was in a holder. I've had to replace the batteries on many Yamaha synths and most are soldered to the board which is a major PITA.
