I just came across this video for GRM Tools: Atelier Creative Audio Workbench filmed at SuperBooth 2025. I didn't see any other mentions of it here, hence the post. GRM Tools is one of those names that brings up giddy memories of late nights experimenting with each effect from the suite.
I was blown away with how cool they sounded years ago, and I still use them on occasion. I'm thrilled that this suite is continuing to be developed, and it's one of my top 3 takeaways from this year's SuperBooth, in terms of software. If I'm not mistaken, I believe they said that they're aiming for a release in September.
Quote from the INA grm website: "Atelier is the latest evolution of the research program initiated in the 1950s, leading to the development of the Morphophone, Phonogene, SYTER, and the GRM Tools plugin suite. Designed for composers, artists, and sound designers, it focuses on modular multichannel audio creation, electroacoustic research, and an exploratory approach to modulation.
GRM Tools Atelier is available as a standalone application and a plugin (VST3, AUv2, AAX) for macOS."

they've been tight lipped about it a bit. watched that video during superbooth and it has me curious. their website didn't have too much detail on it when i last looked. quite smooth looking GUIs. optimistic seeing all those modulators in a row at the bottom.

Any plans for a Windows version?

I don't speak for the company, but I haven't been able to find any information regarding a release for Windows. And the quote from their website only mentions macOS. I'm sure that wasn't a mistake on their part. I'm a little surprised since cross-platform software seems to make more sense from a business perspective.
GRM Tools are already a niche product in my estimation, so the market is already fairly small. But I don't have any experience in developing a plug-in. From what I've read, this has been a long, ongoing project. Maybe some of their DSP is being recycled, updated, and improved in a way that forces them to stick to macOS. In any case, I can totally understand people feeling left out of the party. And that part sucks.

Hard to tell just with a video, but it looks like just a plugin running effects in it in a modular way with a 'station' to edit a sample. Effects that already exist in other bundles and that we already have for most of us (a delay, a comb filter, a bandpass filter...) Not sure I fully understand. Will have to wait and keep my eyes opened before getting too excited.

I talked briefly with the guy from GRM at Superbooth.
As far as I understood most of the GRM Tools shall be ported into the Atelier environment.
That will take a certain, longer period.
The first Atelier suite shall be released until the end of 2025.
Price perhaps 300 Euro.
This piece of software looked fantastic and sounded amazing.
I'm already saving some petty cash for being redy to invest.

I already own all GRM plugins and I'm happy using them in my DAW sessions, not sure I need 300 Euro 'station' to use them again, in a ported format. Unless of course that station really brings something new and fresh on the table. Not enough info for now, will need to wait and see! Who knows

is it new plugins or just sort of a "station" ?
I LOVE some of the GRM tools.
regardless how old it is and how some folks here like to talk old thing down ........."we used this things back then".......like it was nolonger worth a mention, some of the GRM stuff is still up with the best. period.
What makes it so great -to me- is the Superslider.
I hope they don´t abandon that in the new ones !
What it was heavily lacking is: "bypass" button per the single parameter vs. the superslider.
AND: has to be two activations ! NOT just one !.......it´s ridiculous
vs. moduations:
for live jam usages is nothing as powerful as manual manipulations.
With modulations can we do impressive stuff like Richard Devine is showing off all the time.
But vs. real Artistry in a musical context, does NOTHING beat manual jamings. period. ....no YMMV available on this one

"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

The Superbooth video was really interesting. So I went to the website and my interest in whatever they are doing completely died. Possibly the worst plugin company website I've ever seen.
I have no idea what their products are, what they do, or what they're even selling. And I'm not wasting time to figure out a product mix that should be presented in a way that's obvious to even the dumbest website visitor. This is a fundamental marketing concept - product, features, and price should be completely clear without needing 20+ clicks to get a basic understand of the offering.

There is nothing because the product has not yet been released, the superbooth was used as a pre-presentation. So that makes your comments useless.
peace and love for all.

I summarize the useful information from the video in French. GRM is linked to research on audio techniques subsidized by the French state founded by Pierre Schaeffer (Musical Research Group), Matthias Puech manages the current development of GRMtools, a suite of creative effects of which Atelier will be the successor. The information transmitted by Matthias is dated September, the price 250 euros, the support mac/pc and plugin/standalone.
peace and love for all.

I'm really looking forward to it.
The only thing left on my buying list this year.
